Dear Patients,
We know that there are many gaps in our health care system and speaking with a doctor over the phone or video has significantly improved the ease and accessibility of care for patients. The delivery of virtual care has expanded over the last 5 years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. For both minor and ongoing concerns, virtual care gives patients the ability to access same day services as well as comprehensive ongoing care. Most importantly it offers you timely access to physicians at a time when there are critical shortages in family doctors, over-whelmed hospital emergency departments, and increasingly limited access to specialists.
Unfortunately, the government is cutting payments to select physician groups by over 50% to $15-$20 per service (irrespective of time or ailment), which will negatively impact your access to virtual care.

The government simply does not value your access to virtual care. Our physicians and clinic staff are directly impacted by this change, but we strongly believe in the work that we do and the service that we offer to you and patients across Ontario. With our extensive team of family physicians and specialists we serve hundreds of thousands of patients through virtual care each year and we know that patients value access to clinicians when they need it. As the province implements its changes, we have transitioned into a new health service model to take effect December 1st, 2022. Our new health service model is designed for you.
During a time where the cost of living is increasing and pressure on our healthcare system is mounting, it was important for us to follow our mission of making great healthcare services accessible to all Canadians. In making it accessible, we also know that it must be affordable. As such, we have developed a benefit rich healthcare coverage program that is sustainable and will provide you with access to a range of services at a low monthly cost.

The cost for MD Enhanced Care is to unlock numerous benefits not covered by OHIP. For example, the appointment with the doctor is covered by OHIP. However, having free access to your digital health records, free prescription refills, a convenient patient portal, free home prescription delivery are services not covered by OHIP. These are just a few of the benefits included and our new members love having more transparency and access to their health.
We currently accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. We will be adding more payment types shortly.
Charges can appear anywhere between 1-3 business days depending on the card type used. If you opt-in for an annual payment you will be charged once a year on the day of your registration. If you opt-in for a monthly payment you will be charged monthly on the day of your registration.
Yes, you will be able to continue to access health care services with MD Connected through one of our many physical sites. However, you will be missing out on a variety of benefits and services at a low annual rate.
MD Connected is a leader in virtual healthcare. We have over 5 years of experience conducting telemedicine and virtual visits with hundreds of thousands of visits completed to date. We focus on the patient’s experience and have the highest standards for our team of medical practitioners. We offer convenient hours, a diverse group of practitioners, and physical locations.
Our hours of operation vary by location. Please use the Clinic Finder to check for the hours of the clinic near you. We also offer virtual appointments during the following hours:
9 am – 8 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 5 pm on weekends.
MD Connected and TelemedMD have come together to create an improved patient experience and app. It is easier than ever to access a doctor or specialist.
If you are an existing MD Connected patient, we have already created your account for you. You simply need to access it by resetting your password with the “Forgot Password” button using your registered email.
For all new patients, please click the “Log In/Register” button and follow the steps to create a new account.
University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP)
1. Have your UHIP Member ID and Policy # available so the MD Connected patient care team can verify your coverage eligibility.
2. Please complete the UHIP claim authorization form provided below and email it to admin@mdconnected.ca.

1. When using this service, you or your guardian can call Intrepid 24/7 prior to seeking an appointment, and their customer care team will direct you to a contracted clinic.
2. Intrepid 24/7 will fax over the pre-authorization forms. If the forms have not been received by MD Connected you must call the insurer to fax the Verification of Benefits to us.
3. You or your guardian must present your Intrepid 24/7 policy card upon arrival so that our patient care team can verify that you have eligible coverage and sign the authorization forms.
1. You must provide one of the below forms. As long as you have coverage, which can be validated by an MD Connected customer care team member, your visit can proceed.
a. A refugee protection claimant document (RPCD) with photo.
b. An interim federal health program certificate (IFHC).
